The 2017 AGM was held at 7.30pm on Friday 17th March at the County  Community Centre, Hertford Road, Kettering, NN15 6LG. The meeting was really very well attended. Ian Luck presented the End of Year Report  and it was noted that the Society is in a sound financial state,  making a small loss overall on the year. The RA Bus outing broke even  for 2016 and Sue Taylor's successful Life Workshops continued to be  well supported and will continue for 10 months again for 2017. The  Report was voted on and passed by Members present. The new Committee  was voted in comprising Ian Luck, Chairman/Treasurer, Roger Hatton,  Vice Chairman/Secretary, Sue Lydia Taylor, Workshop Co-coordinator,  Maureen Anderson, Allan McIntosh, Stella Benford and Janette Gaggini.  Our continued close working relationship with the Alfred East Art  Gallery was discussed. The quarterly Browser will continue in the  Gallery, which gives KDAS a permanent presence throughout the year.

This year the Society has two Exhibitions, the first in Spring at the  Oakapple Studios in Mears Ashby and the 112th at The Alfred East  Gallery in late Autumn. The Society hopes to continue to grow and  offer even more to our Members in 2017. We will be running occasional  Artists Workshops throughout the year in various mediums. In 2016 KDAS  was gifted a large etching press by Dr Dennis Parrott which is  installed at Oakapple Studios for use by interested Members, along  with associated workshops in monoprinting, drypoint and linocut  techniques.

The current AE Collection Guide, a prestigious colour publication,  fully illustrated throughout, partly funded by KDAS, is always  available at the Gallery. One complete chapter covers the history of  our Society, researched and written by Ian Luck. A publication that is  well worth buying.

Our Spring Exhibition is to be held at the Oakapple Studios from  Saturday 29th April to Sunday 14th May. We hope for a good submission  and an enjoyable exhibition. The Private View is on Saturday afternoon  29th April from 2 - 4pm. The Exhibition is open Wednesday to Sunday  from 11am – 4pm.

In late Autumn we will be holding our major exhibition at the Alfred  East Gallery. More information will be available later in the year re  submissions, etc.

Several visits to Art Events are to be discussed, details to be  available soon. We have one outing arranged, our President’s Coach  Trip, to the Summer Exhibition at the RA on 29th July, more booking  information can be obtained from our President, Janice Ferguson on  01832733848 or 07710260988

Sue Taylor will be arranging two/three of her popular outside  painting sessions during the Summer months, details to be announced  later.

Sue Taylor's Life Workshops recommenced for 2017 on Saturday 7th  January. Future dates are for the first Saturday of each month, with  no workshops during August and September. There will be a changing  selection of models throughout. All Workshops are held at the County  Community Centre, Hertford Road, Kettering, NN15 6LG and run from 10am  - 1pm, the cost of £15 includes the model's fee and refreshments.  Please encourage anyone who might be interested to join us in a very  successful venture.
