The KDAS 2023 AGM was held on Friday 16th June at the Counties Community Centre, Hertford Road, Kettering, NN15 6LG. Our first full AGM since the end of Covid, it was very well attended. Chairman Ian Luck presented the report covering the last two and a half years and noting the changes that have taken place, bringing the Society up to date. Financially KDAS is still solvent and in a good position. Sue Taylor’s Life Classes continue to be well supported as do our Etching Workshops. The Report was voted on and passed by Members present. Janice Ferguson continues to be our President with new Committee comprising Ian Luck, Chairman/Treasurer; Roger Hatton, Vice Chairman/Secretary; Jane Monk, Membership Secretary; Sue Lydia Taylor, Workshop Co-ordinator; Janette Gaggini plus Jane Bell as new Committee Member. Ian Luck and Roger Hatton expressed to Members present that they intend to step down over the next 12 months and that the Committee and Membership need to introduce the necessary measures over the next 9 months to allow this to happen. The next AGM will be in March 2024. As the Alfred East Gallery is currently closed for extensive repairs our 118th Exhibition was held this year in ARTworks Creative Space in the Newlands Centre, Kettering. ARTworks has been running as a venture shared between KDAS and The Friends of Kettering Gallery & Museum for the past 4 years. Over 65 of our Members exhibit their works in this venue.

The current AE Collection Guide, a prestigious colour publication, fully illustrated throughout, partly funded by KDAS, is always  available in ARTworks. One complete chapter covers the history of our Society, researched and written by Ian Luck. A publication that is well worth buying.

In mid spring we will be holding our major exhibition at ARTworks Creative Space. More information will be available later in the year re submissions, etc.

KDAS will be arranging three/four popular outside painting sessions during the summer months, details to be announced later.

Sue Taylor's Life Workshops recommenced for 2024 on Saturday 6th January. Future dates are for the first Saturday of each month, with no workshops during August and September. There will be a changing selection of models throughout. All Workshops are held at the County Community Centre, Hertford Road, Kettering, NN15 6LG and run from 10am - 1pm, the cost of £15 includes the model's fee and refreshments. Please encourage anyone who might be interested to join us in a very successful venture.
